The web offers great resources
for both teachers and students.
Often the problem is having the
time to find the best resources
for you. This website contains
basic information that will
help you find the best resources
to enhance education in your
classroom.
There are many sites and services
available that organize
and evaluate resources for you.
They may be free or have a
minimal charge associated with
them. I recommend finding a
site that correlates to your content
area or grade level so that
you do not have to do endless
hours of searching. Check out the 'Useful Links' page for our favorite sites. What if you don’t see what you are looking for on one of the larger sites? How can you find the resources that will work for you? I am sure you have done a search on the web and it returned 100,000 or more hits, or resources that the search engine thought you would like. Knowing how to search the internet effectively and efficiently is critical. Check out this months feature article to see how you can limit your search and find what you are looking for quickly! Once you find some general sites that have list of the “best” resources you may want to join their mailing list if they have one. Once you are part of the community they will send you updates on new websites, software, and sometimes gadgets that you can use in your classroom. You too can know the latest and greatest and impress your colleagues and students! |
